Rant about the discovery Channel
Well, I happen to like science and technology, and I try to be informed on some of the topics. From time to time I happen to see a comercial about certian discovery channel show about one or another subject I do matter or like.
After several years of trying to get informed on Discovery Channel I have been frustrated by it's vage references and sometimes missing information. I can't say it's on pourpouse they omit something that to me it's relevant or I do consider to be a key point in understanding a subject.
Althought, I have been generous and tried to see the Discovery Channel with a different point of view, it's a divulgation channel and it's intended to be watched by iliterate people of the subject they are presenting; while sometimes I am the iliterate on the subject I'm trying to get a handfull of knowledge I keep feeling as it has a lot of infomation missing.
Now I can keep being generous and tolerate some omisions and bit of miss-information, yet what I can't tolerate of the Discovery Channel is the over dramatization of every fact they expose. I feel that the time they spent writing and producing all those dramatization could be used on exposing more relevant information.
Why they do this? I can only keep answering this question to me, they are a entertaining channel not a source of information, you will probably be missinformed if you watch the Discovery Channel, and I think I should be clear on what I mean. Refering the content of this channel as missinfomative is not that the information they present is not true, but, the fact that the information is incomplete and I feel that it can be misleading.
Finally, I wish the Discovery Channel decided to stop dramatizing every subject they present and avoid for gods sake the real-tv trend that has invaded the television on this years.
